The first route that I would suggest when furnishing your kitchen to make it more rustic would be to start with the kitchen table.

A kitchen table can really define the kitchen as it is one of the bigger pieces in the area. Another thing that I would say could help with making the room more rustic is the type of cabinets you have or the flooring and paint.

Another item you can do but is not 100% necessary is the kitchen sink or the faucet. There is a lot that can be said about how a sink can make a kitchen what you want it and the faucet will always tie it together.

When doing the cabinets you must make sure to follow suit and get the rustic hardware to match the rest of the rooms theme. There are a lot of other things you can do to make your kitchen more rustic but these are the main points that I think are the more important to tie everything together.
